Subtracting Fractions with unlike denominators is exactly the same as adding fractions with unlike denominators. If fractions have the same denominator you can add or subtract normally. 2 /3 - 1 /3 = 1 /3 If you take a look you can see the denominator does not change, though the numerator does.
